Alex Minter, MD

Dr. Alex Minter is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based care to patients with cancer and blood disorders. His compassionate, team-based approach ensures each patient receives individualized support throughout their treatment journey.

Mary Emily Sheffield, MD

Dr. Mary Emily Sheffield is a hematology/oncology physician at UAB Medicine – Russell Medical Cancer Center, where she treats patients with cancer and blood disorders close to home in Alexander City. Board-certified in internal medicine, she completed her internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Patients can expect treatment planning built around their individual needs as she supports them through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Drexell Hunter Boggs, MD

Dr. Boggs cares for adults undergoing radiation treatment for a wide range of cancers, with particular focus on breast cancer, lung cancer, and conditions involving the central nervous system. As a board-certified radiation oncologist and UAB faculty member, he brings advanced training and experience to each patient's treatment plan. Patients can expect thoughtful guidance, clear next steps, and care centered on both comfort and precision.
