Visitor Guidelines

Healing Through Connection

At Russell Medical, we recognize the vital role that family, friends, and Essential Caregivers play in the healing and well-being of our patients. Our visiting guidelines are designed to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone — balancing open access with the need to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

In accordance with Alabama Act 2023-24, Joint Commission standards, and current CDC and CMS recommendations, Russell Medical supports each patient's right to receive visitors of their choosing, while maintaining practices that reduce the spread of illness.

General Visiting Hours

Sunday–Monday: 6:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.

All designated entrances are open only during visiting hours. No visitation is allowed after 9:00 PM. For emergency needs outside of these hours, please speak with the Nursing Supervisor or enter through the Emergency Department entrance.

Guest Meals

Russell Medical provides one complimentary guest meal to:

  • Parents or guardians of pediatric patients (ages 12 and under)

  • Sitters of patients requiring physician-ordered, 24-hour care

Additional meals may be purchased in advance through the Business Office and will be delivered alongside the patient's meal.
